Thanksgiving
Posted in grandparents, thanksgiving on 11/26/2009 10:51 pm by stephanieI am thankful for so many things, though I believe my immediately family, save for watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade [sober - I might add], and D making pumpkin and chocolate chip cookies for dessert, we’ve boycotted Thanksgiving.
No turkey. None of D’s delicious (his mother’s recipe) dressing. No Grand Marnier cranberries. None of it. The kids had a frozen pizza, macaroni and cheese and sliced oranges. We had Chinese food.
I am perhaps a tad sad we didn’t have the traditional feast with friends/family, but I had a great feast with my three guys, all eating what they loved. And J said he was grateful for Grandma and Pop Pop and Christmas.
We have pictures from the past month. Not many but some of the boys playing happily together as brothers should. I’ll get to those at some point before the new year.
Very luckily, in this month alone, we’ve had both sets of Grandparents visit and I couldn’t possibly be more thankful that my children are lucky enough to have grandparents who love them as much as theirs do.
So, aside from a lack of a turkey and excessive eating, this Thanksgiving was private, sweet, and full of thanks for all that we have.
My hope is that yours was the same.
